I was born at "McCords", as we all affectionately call(ed) it. Two years ago, my Mother passed away. I am grateful that she was spared from this truly sad news. Of our McCords trident, only I remain. Who would have thought that I would outlast McCords ? All of the great icons of my time are slowly dissolving...making way for rampant commercialism. The legends live on in our hearts, and that is where they will always have the respect that they deserve. Much love to McCords, from a grateful son of a wonderful Mother.

it is a sad day to announce a closure to our heritage, this is how i feel, i and my siblings were born in McCord Hospital. At the time it catered largely for the non-white community. in our years of oppression this was a bastion of comfort now that we have our new found democracy, we tend to show scant respect for the past.
Government needs to intervene, the Board cannot just give up, the closure of this hospital is smack to the community which it serves. providing medical care to those that need it is way of saying we are with you in your suffering and not betrayal by giving up. Please fight on....
