The Emergency and Ambulatory Care Business Unit, supported by 80 staff members, provides the following services at McCord:
- Trauma and emergency
- General outpatient care
- Diabetic Clinic
- Psychiatric Clinic
- Injury on Duty
- Occupational health
- Ophthalmology
- Ear, nose and throat
- Erectile dysfunction
The Business Unit Leader is Dr Sam Naidoo. Dr Naidoo has been with McCord since August 2007 where he started as Principal Medical Officer. In 2008 he became the Deputy Head of Department for the Out-Patients Department, before becoming Leader of the EAC Business Unit in December 2009. Prior to joining McCord Dr Naidoo was the Chief Medical Officer in the Accident and Emergency Department at Lady Smith Provincial Hospital for 11 years.
